The Heart of the Swamp is a location in the Arlo the Alligator Boy franchise. It is the central area of The Swamp and former domain of the Bog Lady.
Background[]
Hence its name, the Heart of the Swamp is the "heart", or nerve center of the entire swamp, with the waters shaped to look like a heart. It was presumably peaceful in the past until the Bog Lady unleashed a curse which covered most of the swamp, the Heart included, in thorns as part of her plan to lure Arlo to her and force him to apologize for leaving the swamp for New York in the first place, as she secretly protected and influenced him all his life which he didn't know of. When he refused, he was hypnotized and held in her grasp, but was released by hearing the voices of Bertie and Alia; a battle then follows, which culminated in the Bog Lady getting killed in the explosion of Edmée's shack. Following her death, the Heart and the rest of the swamp returned to normal.
